There was a lot more snow here than I thought there would be. Continuous snow cover from bottom to top, with depths reaching a foot or more in some areas. The Multi-Use Trail and the western end of the Bald Rock Mountain Trail were like a sidewalk, so I barebooted to the summit, but the eastern leg of the Bald Rock Mtn. Trail and the first 0.3 mi of the Frohock Mountain Trail were softer and far less tracked, so I put my snowshoes on for that leg of the hike.
Despite the meh weather, there were a fair amount of people hiking Bald Rock Mountain, as well as the rest of Camden Hills State Park. I'd like to go back in the near future and get whatever views I missed today. |
