Southwest Ridge Trail to main summit (2.9 mi one way)
Below freezing for whole hike though sun did come out around noontime and we had fine views of the Presidentials through the leafless trees along the ridge and from the main summit. Traction was indispensable and hike would not have been do-able without it. Grateful to Loon Echo Land Trust and others who look after this fine mountain and its many trails. |
