Comments
Comments: Just spectacular! Snow squalls to start, but rapid clearing with expansive views from this 2 mile open ridge.
Steady winds, ~ 30 mph with stronger gusts, with low temps mandated face masks and goggles for the entire above tree line portion, although scattered pockets of spruce along the AT provided shelter for refueling. Trail conditions were mixed, but Jerry and I were fine with microspikes: mostly firm crust on the ski trails, occasional post-holing; long stretches of ice and bare rock on the AT, with deep snow in the trees which was supportive as long as one stayed on the not always obvious prior snowshoe line.
