Comments
Comments: Old Speck Mountain has amazing views and I really believe they should make it the 49th 4000 footer and just rename the list as a White Mountain list instead of only White Mountains of NH. There is one more 4000 footer in the White Mountains, but is gets no respect since it is in Maine.

The trail is rocky and footing is less than ideal. The trail also gains elevation early and then levels out more once you get on the ridge.

We had a dusting of snow down low, that turned into a trail completely covered and some significant ice flows that we wish we had spikes for, to about two inches on the summit, and then warmed up conditions on the descent where everything was melting (which made the slippery leaves even more of a pain).
