| Comments: |
I walked Trail Road for a considerable distance beyond the trail to Boundary Bald, until I was right under the east peak to the southwest. I bushwhacked up towards the southwest bump of the east peak, finding woods to be thick in places and the going to be very steep. Once on the ridge, the woods got thicker as I worked my up to the highpoint. The final bit to the highpoint was a scramble on ledge and talus. This is one of the nicest trail-less summits I've been on, with extraordinary 360 views. Looking at the ridge towards the main peak made me choose not to bushwhack along the ridge as the going would likely be slow and thick. I bushwhacked back down to the road and used the trail to hike Boundary Bald on the way out. |
