| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Trail was in good shape; there were some blowdowns, but all were easily gone over, under, or around. It rained this morning, so probably wetter than it might normally be, but some of the low areas between peaks are quite muddy. Nothing major, but lower-cut shoes might not cut it for dry feet. |

| Bugs: |
Pretty bad down low, but it was damp, cold, and windy at the summit (at least while I was there), so none to speak of. Sun finally burned through when I was mostly done, and the bugs returned, apparently with more appetite. |

Really nice trail, not as difficult as I had anticipated. Much of the trail is soft underfoot, not rocky, so it does tend to get muddy. Views were very limited while I was there, but from the glimpses I saw they were excellent and unobstructed. Trail was well-defined and easy to follow, and the brook had lots of nice cascades. I had planned to head to Mt Carlo, but I didn't want to get wet, and the weather was unsettled, so I called it a day. On a hot day you can stop at Frenchman's Hole on the way out (you go right by it). |
