| Comments: |
The usual route, described on NETC many times, is SO much easier than the more direct route I ascended in 1999, plowing through the thick spruce with knee-knocking hidden blowdown guarding the Eastern side of the summit. When I was in the School of Whack, 'real hikers' favored a direct on-bearing assault, only 'whimps' would take the path of least resistance. With experience, I am happy now to be in the latter category.
(I'll be continuing to climb these NEHH peaks in all seasons. Don't hesitate to contact me if you'd like company or help with Winter trail-breaking). |
