8.1 miles down success pond road to trailhead. Went up Carlo col trail and visited Carlo col tent sites. Then up Carlo, over to Goose eye, and down Goose eye trail back to trailhead. Beautiful day, no bugs and only seen a few people on the trail. Slab rocks coming down Carlo were a little slippery so it was slow going. Steel ladder runs and wooden stairs going up Goose eye made the trail challenging and interesting. Got up close and cozy with a spruce grouse. Met up with one north bound thru hiker (the Rev), and he was planning on being to baxter by oct 8th. We wished him well and congratulated him and welcomed him to Maine. Day was 7.2 miles, approx 2670 feet gain. Hiked with Do, and Ashley. Great day and great company to finish up number 100 on Goose eye. d&d see attached link for pics
