Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: From Rt 16, take Morton Cutoff Rd at the head of Cupsuptic Lake near Cupsuptic CG. Road was not signed, however, was the widest road in the area. Follow Morton Cutoff for 3.2 miles to Lincoln Pond Rd (this jct was not signed but is very obvious). Bear right onto Lincoln Pond Rd and follow it 7.4 miles to Wiggle Pond Road. Turn left onto Wiggle Pond Rd (clearly signed). Follow Wiggle Brook Rd 3.4 miles to a jct with Bear Brook Rd. About 1.2 in on Wiggle Brk Rd there's a washout that caused my low clearance wagon a little trouble but some well placed rocks and a little care got me across. Follow Bear Brook Rd 4.4 miles to a logging yard and park at an elevation of about 2650'

Comments
Comments: We followed the continuation of the logging road uphill to an elevation of about 3400' before heading over to NKD. We followed a very well defined trail left from the road leading uphill to White Cap but quickly realized it was heading away from the summit. We turned back toward the summit, pushed thru some thick spruce in the col before we picked up a herd path that led to the summit. We descended mostly along the same route to the col where we again lost the herd path. Finding the logging road again, we were able to follow it up White Cap to about 3650' before turning back NW to the summit, again picking up a herd path to the top. On the descent, we noticed a very well defined trail leading SW on the contour at 3200' from the logging road which may be an alternate route to NKD.
