Comments: B-52 crash site on (the other) Elephant Mountain, whack to tail rudder location

After visiting the C54 site on Fort, we stayed at Shaw's Hostel in Monson. Lots of AT thru hikers. Then to the public B-52 crash site north of Greenville. We'd acquired the relational location of the nose to the main debris field but couldn't find it (no map scale). So we left the crash site, driving as near as possible to the site of the tail rudder, having acquired its map coordinates. We 'whacked to the location and found nothing. We then drove on and 'whacked to two other locations indicated by each of the two UTM system translations of the original latitude/longitude given in the Air Force report. Nothing there, either. Then checked the Greenville snowmobile clubhouse, as there'd been a plan to extract the tail, conserve it and display it at the clubhouse. Nothing there. Then back to town to ask the locals....no luck. The crash site is well worth visiting.
