Comments
Comments: First 1.3 miles of Marston Trail mellow, starting elevation 1266. Taking North Brother to the left, steady uphill for a mile to the lake in the cirque below the Brothers. Great views of Doubletop. From lake climb again steeply for the next 3/4 mile. Along the plateau for the last portion to the saddle between the Brothers. 0.8 miles to North Brother with 500 ft of elevation gain, 0.3 miles flat, last .5 mile climbing. Come out of the trees in last quarter mile. Very windy at the top. Forecast did not indicate rain, but clouds coming in overhead.
Decided to tag Fort.
About a mile away. Followed the cairns off the summit and carefully followed the old tread way into the col and then up on to Fort. Not to difficult, we were able to see Fort summit most of he way over. No summit canister, didn't have time to search for the plane wreck, but did find the old radio at the second cairn.
Rain started on the way back. Decided to save Coe and South Brother for another trip.
Great way to finish our NE67!
