Maybe two blowdowns to hop over. One was a tree with a "Skyline Trail" sign on it; I think it may have been somewhere around intersection C5-24. Some intersections do not have a marker; for example, I think that intersection B3-21 does not have a sign marking it. |

Outside Sheepfold Dog Park, dogs are required to be on leash. Some owners were not respecting this rule. |

Lost: Non-prescription sunglasses with black plastic rim somewhere along the southern half of Skyline Trail, perhaps on the rocks at the base of Wright Tower. Email me if you find it.
Found: New England Patriots warm hat - we left it on the wooden signpost at intersection B3-21 (intersection of Skyline Trail and Bike Loop). |

We went counterclockwise around the whole Skyline Trail. Most of the trail had about 2-4 inches of snow, but some short sections had none, and there are many exposed rocks throughout, so bare boots worked best. Some places had a little bit of standing water under slush or were a little muddy, but this was no problem for typical winter boots that are waterproof up to a few inches off the ground.
The white blazes along the Skyline Trail are frequent enough that anyone paying attention to them can stay on trail. In fact, in most places one can just follow the path where the snow has been most trodden. There was only one place where the person at the front of my group missed a right turn, at C5-1 (but then quickly realized this). |
