Comments
Comments: At the bottom, it was just wet. Once you started up Roaring Brook Trail, snow was present and increasing as you went up. At Sperry Rd, there was about 4". Accumulation slowly increased as you went up. It was about 6-8" by the time you neared the top. The snow was dense powder. I didn't need any traction and think I saw only one person "using" traction; those things were loaded with ice, like a set of platforms from the 70's!! Summit is clear of snow due to wind. Stopped over to March Cataract Falls which was beautiful. Tough hike, being the first snow hike of the season. Feels good to get the snow legs going again.
