Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: We got dropped off at Wachusett Ski Area and got picked up at the other end at the Watatic parking lot the next day. Plenty of parking at Wachusett. As for the Watatic end it looks like they are now prohibiting parking on the shoulder of Rt 119 so overflow is now on Old Pierce Rd directly across the highway from the lot. I think the residents there might not be liking this too much. There are many signs prohibiting parking on the side with the houses.

Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Brooks were mostly dry
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: An occasional blowdown that we had do duck under. One brushy blowdown just before Westminster Inn and Rt 2 (northbound) just before the parking lot. Can be walked around. The crossing of Russell Hill Road northbound almost threw us. The yellow triangle on the other side should have had a second one pointing into the woods or something. We thought the blaze was pointing us onto a roadwalk. We figured it out.

Comments
Comments: We finished up the Midstate trail south to north. We overnighted at Muddy Pond shelter. Met a young lady there who is a trail maintainer on the Midstate trail. We thank her and the others who take such good care of this great trail.
When we got to the Watatic parking lot we called for our ride (wasn't easy, there is almost no signal there) and we skipped the summit of Watatic and the walk to the state line. We had done that before and felt we could count it as a completion of the Midstate trail. Besides we were beat and it was threatening to rain. Thanks to Lone Wolf for a great finish to the Midstate trail.
