Well made signs and good blazing. Trails with signs didn't have blazes and were not on the state map - sometimes led to getting lost but the trails were in good condition. |

Unknown hill, Willard Brook State Forest
Started off at Vinton pond. Took a bearing into the thicket near the pond. Crossed some abandoned forest roads and a forgotten outhouse. A short trip up the slope with more open woods and classic central MA hardwoods. A few nice pines at the hilltop. Came across a network of trails that aren't on the state map and subsequently disoriented me. All well maintained and pleasant, thanks to the work of a local outdoor club I presume. Altogether a wonderful few hours in solitude traveling around this unnamed hill through picturesque forest.
