| Comments: |
Where did winter go? The temperature was higher than normal for this time of year, and the hike was almost completely snow and ice free. Conditions were unusually wet, almost like what I'd find in spring- there were some decently big areas of standing water and mud, and both the lower and upper tiers of Race Brook Falls were roaring. Needless to say, my microspikes got a free ride, but with the incoming sub-freezing temps, I'd still recommend bringing them or some other form of traction. |
