Comments
Comments: A weekend out to Tom Leonard Shelter in Egremont MA... Flat trail to start through farm land and other low land sights. Very hot in the early fall weather. NO WATER so, I had 4 Liters packed. The elevation seems minimal but you climb rather steeply and quickly without switchbacks. At the shelter, there are two tent platforms... One has a view while the other has hooks for guy lines... Choose well. There is also a resident porcupine who loves to chew on the salty wood around the shelter and will chew guy lines. The trip back the next day was a lot quicker but still hot. I ended up getting a liter of water from the guys next to me and that didn't last to the Cache down low... Great section of trail though and very quiet.
